Helena Brewers Announce 2017 Coaching Staff

Corredor Returns for Second Season in Helena

HELENA, MT- The Helena Brewers announced that Nestor Corredor will return as manager in 2017.

Corredor played seven professional Minor League seasons with the Brewers from 2002-2008. He played in Helena in 2004 as a catcher and returned in 2008 as a pitcher.

Corredor is entering his seventh seasons as manager for the Brewers, Rookie Dominican Summer League (2010-2012), Arizona Brewers (2013-2015) and Helena (2016). His overall managerial record is 196-254 (.435).

"I have enjoyed my time in Helena as a player and coach," said Corredor. "I look forward to developing the young prospects and bringing a competitive team back to Helena in 2017."

Joining Corredor in the dugout will be pitching coaches; Mark Dewey and Rolanado Valles and hitting coach Liu Rodriguez.

Dewey enters his 6th year in the Brewers organization. During that span, he worked two seasons as Pitching Coach in Brevard County (2012-2013) and two seasons as a roving instructor (2014-2015) and Helena (2016). Dewey spent six seasons in the Major Leagues with San Francisco, New York Mets, and Pittsburgh.

Valles was a Pitching Coach in Helena (2014-2015) and the Arizona Brewers (2016). He spent 10 years in-between the Minor Leagues and Independent Leagues as a pitcher. Originally drafted by the Houston Astros, Valles has also worked as a Latin Liaison for the Brewers from (2008-2015).

Rodriguez spent seven years in the Major Leagues with the White Sox organization as a middle infielder. In 2015, he worked as a coach in the Brewers Class A affiliate Wisconsin (Appleton) and Helena (2016). 2017 will be his third year working with Milwaukee.

"The 2017 staff members bring a solid mix of playing and coaching backgrounds that will be important in development of this years Helena Brewers players," said Milwaukee Brewers, Farm Director, Tom Flanagan

The Brewers also announced that Trainer, Jeff Bodenhamer and Strength & Conditioning, Coach Alistair Matthews will return in the same capacities as well in 2017.
