Hickory, NC- The Crawdads five game win streak came to an end on Friday night in a rain-shortened 7-1 loss to the Lakewood BlueClaws.

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads five game win streak came to an end on Friday night in a rain-shortened 7-1 loss to the Lakewood BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws hit a solo homerun off 'Dads starting pitcher Tyree Thompson in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The 'Dads rallied to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. Pedro Gonzalez led off the inning with a single. Preston Scott doubled to center to bring Gonzalez around to score.
The BlueClaws quickly retook the lead, scoring two runs in the fourth inning. They added a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Tyree Thompson completed six innings, giving up seven runs. He struck out eight and has handed his ninth loss of the season.
Derek Heffel pitched a scoreless seventh inning before the game was called for rain.
The teams will play again tomorrow night at 7pm with a '90s themed game. It is also App State Night and the first 500 fans will receive a free cobranded Crawdads and App State hat.
