Crawdads Re-sign with Texas Rangers

New 4-year agreement will run through 2018
August 29, 2014

Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads are proud to announce the extension of their Player Development Agreement with the Texas Rangers, with the new agreement keeping the 'Dads with the Rangers for the next four seasons.

The Crawdads have been a Rangers affiliate since 2009, following previous affiliations with the Chicago White Sox (1993-1998) and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1999-2008). The new four-year PDA with the Rangers will run through the 2018 season, tying the Rangers with the Pirates as the longest affiliate in Crawdads history.

"We're very excited to continue our relationship with the Texas Rangers," said Crawdads General Manager Mark Seaman. "The Rangers have been a great partner over the past six seasons and we're looking forward to four more years with one of the best organizations in Major League Baseball."

The Crawdads have consistently boasted one of the youngest rosters in all of Low-A baseball throughout their tenure with the Rangers, with teenage stars such as Jurickson Profar, Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo, and Nomar Mazara all spending time in Hickory.

The 'Dads have seen 24 players promoted to the major leagues during their first six years with the Rangers while posting an accumulative record of 444-384 (.536), including a 77-58 record with four games remaining in the 2014 season.
