Crawdads Win 5-1 Over Greensboro to Take Series

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 5-1 on Tuesday night to win the series three games to one against the Grasshoppers.

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 5-1 on Tuesday night to win the series three games to one against the Grasshoppers.

Preston Scott put the 'Dads ahead early with a two-run homerun in the first inning. The homerun was his third of the season with the Crawdads.
The Grasshoppers hit a solo homerun in the sixth inning off Noah Bremer but still trailed the 'Dads 2-1. Bremer finished the night with six innings pitched, four hits allowed, two walks, six strikeouts, and just one run allowed.
Tyler Ratliff led off the bottom of the seventh with a deep shot to left field. Yonny Hernandez reached on a bunt single and stole his fourteenth base of the season to get himself into scoring position. He advanced to third on a fly ball to left by Miguel Aparicio. Ryan Dorow reached on a missed catch by the first baseman as Hernandez came in to score and give the 'Dads a 4-1 lead.
The 'Dads added on another run in the bottom of the eighth. Yohel Pozo started off the inning with a walk. Tyreque Reed doubled to right and advanced Pozo to third. Jacobs hit a double to the warning track in right-center field that brought Pozo in to score.
The 'Dads return to the Frans on July 11th for World Record Wednesday. During the game the game the 'Dads will try to break world records. It will also be Kids Win Wednesday and all kids 12 and under receive a free ticket, meal voucher, and a free bounce house, speed pitch, and carousel voucher. Also stop by the Carolina Vines and Catawba Farms table for a wine sampling for Wine Wednesday.
