Hickory, NC- The Crawdads hit their ninth walkoff the season on Friday night to defeat the West Virginia Power 5-4 in ten innings.

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads hit their ninth walkoff the season on Friday night to defeat the West Virginia Power 5-4 in ten innings.

The Power got a run across in the second off 'Dads starter AJ Alexy to take a 1-0 lead.
The 'Dads tied things up in the bottom half of the inning. Pedro Gonzalez started the inning off with a triple to center. Sam Huff hit a ground out to second that allowed Gonzalez to score.
In the top of the third inning, the Power responded with three more runs to give them a 4-1 lead.
Alexy finished the night with five innings, seven hits allowed, and four runs. He struck out seven. Joe Kuzia took over in relief and pitched two hitless innings with four strikeouts.
The 'Dads got a run back in the seventh that cut the Power's lead to two runs. Gonzalez got things started once again with a leadoff single. He was able to advance to third on a failed pickoff attempt by the Power catcher. Aparicio hit a grounder to first that brought Gonzalez in.
The Crawdads picked up another run in the eighth with a two-out rally. Ryan Dorow singled and scored as Preston Scott hit a double to right.
Miguel Aparicio hit a homerun to left field in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game up at four.
Demarcus Evans pitched his third hitless inning to keep the game tied for the bottom of the tenth.
Tyler Ratliff began the tenth inning as the runner on second base. Yonny Hernandez singled to advance him to third. Dorow was intentionally walked to bring Scott to the plate. Scott delivered a sacrifice fly to right that brought Ratliff to score the winning run.
The 'Dads will be back in action at the Frans next Thursday night against the Kannapolis Intimidators for Usher Hunger Games and Thirsty Thursday.
