'Dads Pitching Strong in Win Over West Virginia

Crawdads Collect 11 Hits in 6-1 Victory

Hickory, NC- The 'Dads racked up 11 hits Sunday afternoon as they defeated the West Virginia Power 6-1 in the series finale.

Hickory, NC- The 'Dads racked up 11 hits Sunday afternoon as they defeated the West Virginia Power 6-1 in the series finale.

The Power scored a run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead, but weren't able to get another run on the board during the afternoon against 'Dads pitchers.
The 'Dads quickly erased the deficit, scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead. Third baseman Ryan Dorow singled up the middle to start off the inning. First baseman Tyreque Reed walked to put runners on first and second for the 'Dads. Left fielder Austin O'Banion doubled in both runners in a ball that got past the left fielder. Second baseman followed it up with a single to center to bring in O'Banion. Right fielder Preston Scott hit another single that scored Enright and gave the 'Dads a 4-1 lead.
Crawdads struck again in the sixth, with a double by Bubba Thompson that brought Reed around to score from second.
Thompson notched another RBI in the eighth with a bases-loaded ground out that allowed O'Banion to score.
On the mound for the 'Dads Tyree Thompson delivered another strong start, throwing five one run innings. Righties Joe Kuzia and Demarcus Evans each added two innings of one-hit relief to seal the 6-1 victory.
The 'Dads will be back in action at the Frans to begin the second half of the season on Thursday, June 21st for Margaritaville Night. Fans who dress up for the tropical occasion will get a free ticket to the game.
