The Crawdads would like to invite fans out to LP Frans Stadium for Opening Night on Thursday, April 12th against the West Virginia Power. As part of the celebration of the new season, fans are encouraged to be a part of the first ever Fill the Frans Night. If 4,000 fans come out to the park on Opening Night and Fill the Frans, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to come back to another 'Dads game in 2018.
The game will begin at 7pm, with gates opening at 6pm. Opening Night will include the traditional baseball Opening Day ceremonies including player introductions on the foul lines and bunting around the stadium. The 'Dads three South Atlantic League championship trophies will be on display pre-game for fans to take pictures with.
The National Anthem will be performed by Woodlawn Baptist Quartet and newly elected Hickory Mayor Hank Guess will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. The Crawdads will also be giving away 2018 magnet schedules to fans as they exit the ballpark courtesy of Absolute Tree Care and WHKY Radio.
The Opening Series will continue throughout the weekend. Friday will feature the first fireworks show of the season. On Saturday the Crawdads will celebrate their affiliate and new owners with Texas Rangers Night.
