*Hickory, NC- *The Crawdads rallied for 4 runs late in Friday night’s game against the Dash but weren’t able to complete the comeback as they fell 8-4 in front of a crowd of 1,778.

The Dash erupted for five runs in the third inning and added on a pair in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead. Crawdads starter Grant Wolfram was charged with seven earned runs on 8 hits, no walks, and four strikeouts.

The ‘Dads rallied in the seventh inning for four runs to cut their deficit to three. Jake Guenther started things off with a leadoff walk. He was replaced on the bases by David Garcia who hit into a fielder’s choice. Kole Enright was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Scott Kapers hit his first double of the year to score Garcia and move Enright to third. Miguel Aparicio doubled to center to bring Enright and Kapers around to score. A single by Chris Seise capped off the rally and made the score 7-4.

The Dash added on an unearned run in the ninth off Jean Casanova to push their lead back to 4.
