Hickory, NC- The 'Dads fell to the Lakewood BlueClaws 6-4 on Monday afternoon in the series finale.

The Crawdads scored the first run of the afternoon to take a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Bubba Thompson singled to left to leadoff the inning. Thompson stole his twenty fifth base of the season to get into scoring position. Yonny Hernandez advanced Thompson to third with a sacrifice bunt. Ryan Dorow hit a grounder to third that allowed Thompson to score.
Tyler Phillips followed up his dominant 13 strikeout performance on Tuesday night with five shutout innings. This afternoon's performance lowered his ERA to 2.79, which is the fifth best mark in the league. He allowed five hits, no walks, and struck out two.
The BlueClaws took a 4-1 lead on a grandslam off reliever Joe Kuzia. They increased their lead to five runs with two more runs in the seventh inning.
In the eighth inning the 'Dads offense rallied for three runs. Thompson crushed a two-run homer to left field to cut the deficit to three runs. The homerun is Thompson's sixth of the season. Hernandez walked and stole his thirty fourth bag of the season to reach second base. Ryan Dorow hit a single to left that scored Hernandez to make the score 6-4.
The 'Dads start a seven-game road trip to Asheville and Greenville. They will return home next Thursday, August 23rd, for a four-game series against Lakewood.
