Logo Launch Party Set For October 27

Hillcats will host event at Fifth and Federal
October 13, 2016

After an overwhelming number of fans voted to keep the name, the Lynchburg Hillcats will reveal its new logo as part of a launch party in conjunction with the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance's ribbon-cutting ceremony at Fifth and Federal October 27 at 5 p.m.

"We are very excited to let people see our new brand and logo," said Hillcats President Chris Jones. "The launch party at Fifth and Federal will serve as a great setting to do that."

Fifth and Federal, a new bourbon bar opening near downtown Lynchburg, offers a wide variety of Southern-style cuisine prepared by culinary mastermind Chef Rufus, who has more than 30 years of experience. Located at 801 Fifth Street, the new establishment operates in a renovated Esso Gas station that first opened in 1924.

"We are delighted to be chosen to host this event for the Hillcats baseball team with their rebranding event," said Josh Read, co-owner of Fifth and Federal. "Fifth and Federal Station has been a part of the community since 1924. We look forward to serving the community for many more years."

Drinks and samples of Fifth and Federal's menu will be available at the event. The ceremony will also feature members of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and the Lynchburg Hillcats front office.

"Revealing our logo fits well with the Fifth and Federal ribbon-cutting," said Jones. "What the owners of Fifth and Federal have done shares many similarities with the vision behind our new logo. We want to recognize the heritage and tradition of the Hillcats name while giving it a fresh look."

Those wishing to attend the event, which is closed to the public, must contact the Hillcats by emailing [email protected] before Tuesday, October 25. Anyone unable to attend can watch the unveiling on Facebook Live.
