The Cal State Fullerton product was with the Hooks until his Pacific Coast League promotion in late July. Davis hit .279 with a Texas League best 21 home runs and 60 RBIs in 87 games for the Hooks. He led the club with 18 doubles while, at the time of his promotion, ranked among the league leaders in total bases (1st, 179), extra-base hits (1st, 39), slugging (3rd, .510) and RBIs (4th).
Davis, tabbed the Texas League's Player of the Month for June (.343-7-23), is tied for 3rd in the minor leagues with 26 home runs. The 24-year-old slugger holds the Hooks record for career home runs, belting 44 in 213 games over parts of 2 Double-A campaigns. Davis matched the club standard for dingers in game last season, clubbing 3 May 19 at The Wolff in San Antonio.
Davis, a 3rd-round pick of the Astros in 2014, hit .365 in 28 Grapefruit League games this Spring. He is poised to become the 11th Corpus Christi alum to make his Major League debut this season, joining RHP
