Flour Bluff, Ray Postponed

To Meet Wednesday at Whataburger Field
March 10, 2014

CORPUS CHRISTI -- It's the fourth week of high school baseball season, and three times the Whataburger Field amateur calendar has been adjusted to beat or wait out precipitation.

District 31-4A opponents Flour Bluff and Ray, who were originally scheduled to meet Tuesday evening at 6:30, have been pushed back to 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. They'll be part of a split doubleheader as fellow 31-4A member Alice meets Gregory-Portland at 6:30.

The ballpark will be cleared of spectators between games. Ticket prices for the first contest are $5 + tax for adults and $3 + tax for youth/students. For the nightcap, all tickets cost $5 + tax.

"With an elevated rain chance tonight and in the early morning hours tomorrow, it's best to give the playing surface another day to dry out," Hooks senior communications director Matt Rogers said. "Tuesday is supposed to be brilliant after the rain moves on and the rest of the week looks good."

Here's the modified schedule of games this week at Whataburger Field:

Wednesday, March 12
Flour Bluff vs. Ray, 3 p.m.
Alice vs. Gregory-Portland, 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 13
Santa Rosa vs. Bishop, 6:30 p.m.

Friday, March 14
Weslaco vs. Robstown, 2 p.m.
