Uncle Lucius Added to Ziegfest Lineup

September 17, 2013

CORPUS CHRISTI - A fourth band was added to the bill for the Ziegfest 11th Annual Music Festival, the concert's producer announced. Austin-based Uncle Lucius will join Kevin Fowler, Casey Donahew Band and Reckless Kelly on the stage Friday, October 25 at Whataburger Field.

The band features lead singer Kevin Galloway on rhythm guitar, Hal Vorpahl on bass, Mike Carpenter on lead guitar and vocals, Josh Greco on drums and percussion and Jon Grossman on lead vocals and keys.

"Uncle Lucius is a generous portion of good songwriting combined with a heap of excellent musicianship, and are on their way to becoming a house hold name," Ziegfest producer Casey Lain said. "Come out to Ziegfest early and catch Uncle Lucius for a fix of Southern Rock. They are guaranteed to make you a fan."

"And You Are Me," the quintet's second full album was released in August 2012, and they've toured behind it over the last year. The band's website describes its musical taste as an interpretation of new rock sounds mixed with elements of R&B and blues.

Songs from the band's 2009 album, "Pick Your Head Up," were featured on TV shows including "Castle" and "Friday Night Lights."

Voting for the Ziegfest opening act is open through Friday on Facebook. The top four vote-getters will compete in the Brewster Street IceHouse Ziegfest Battle of the Bands Wednesday, October 2 for the right to open the concert and play a post-concert party at Brewster Street.

Whataburger Field will host Ziegfest, presented by Ziegenbock, October 25 for the fourth consecutive year. Fans can purchase tickets at whataburgerfield.com, by calling 361-561-4665, or visiting the ballpark box office during business hours.
