The Hudson Valley Renegades are three games back of the Greensboro Grasshoppers with six games to play.

The Gades beat the Brooklyn Cyclones on Sunday, 13-9, to close out the season series between the two teams.

Everson Pereira, Austin Wells, and Andres Chaparro each contributed three RBIs while Matt Sauer worked five innings to improve to 3-2.

Brooklyn grabbed an early 3-0 lead on a Luke Ritter home run before the Renegades stormed back with seven in the second.

Elijah Dunham led off the bottom of the second with a home run and Eric Wagaman singled in a run later in the frame before Jake Sanford scored on a balk. Eduardo Torrealba contributed a triple to score Wagaman. The rest of the inning included a two-run homer by Wells followed up by a solo shot by Chaparro.

Pereira added his three-run home run in the third. The Renegades tacked on three more in the third to open up a 13-4 lead.

On the mound, Sauer settled down after allowing the first-inning home run. The righthander four runs (three earned) on three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.

The Cyclones nibbled away to get the game to the final margin before the game ended, scoring four in the sixth and one in the ninth. The Renegades finished 25-11 against the High-A East affiliate of the New York Mets.

Earlier in the day, Greensboro lost their fourth in a row to Jersey Shore and now come to Dutchess Stadium Tuesday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
