GADES RIDE THE WAVES BUT CYCLONES WIN IN EXTRAS

BROOKLYN, NY (May 23, 2021) – The Hudson Valley Renegades took the lead twice in extra innings, only to see the Brooklyn Cyclones answer them. Hayden Singer capped the bottom of the 12th with a three-run home run to give the Cyclones a 6-5 win over the Renegades.

With the loss, the Gades fell back to 9-9 while Brooklyn improved to 7-10.

Josh Breaux and Eduardo Torrealba led Hudson Valley with two hits each. Torrealba is hitting .412 (7-for-17) since joining the Hudson Valley lineup on May 19.

Hayden Wesneski went five innings on the mound for the Gades. He struck out seven and allowed three hits during his scoreless outing. Nick Ernst and Zach Greene went the rest of the way with Greene taking the loss to fall to 1-2. Josh Hejka (1-0) earned the win for the Cyclones.

The Renegades led in both the 11th and 12th innings before Singer’s home run gave Brooklyn the victory. The Renegades return to Dutchess Stadium on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.
