Earlier, the Gades topped the Claws, 2-0. Ken Waldichuk continued to impress on the mound as the lefty struck out nine over four-and-a-third. He has pitched 18.2 innings in 2021 and has yet to give up a run. At the plate, the Gades got a fourth inning single from new addition Evan Alexander to take a 1-0 lead. Ezequiel Duran added a solo home run down the left field line in the fifth.

Zach Greene went the final 2.2 innings to wrap up the one-hit shutout. He also earned the win (2-2). Blue Claws starter Kevin Gowdy took the loss (0-2).

In the nightcap, the Renegades used a patient approach as they picked up a run by way of four walks. Oswald Peraza earned a base-on-balls to score Saul Torres and gave the Gades the lead. Torres added two more on a double in the third.

The BlueClaws climbed back with two runs in the fifth. Bryson Stott spoiled the fans hopes with a home run to start the seventh inning. Peraza opened the bottom of the frame with a double. He stole third and scored on Wagaman’s single against the drawn-in infield.
