Speed Kills: Gades swipe seven in 8-4 victory
WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY (May 25, 2022) — The Hudson Valley Renegades stole seven bases en route to an 8-4 win over the Rome Braves on Wednesday afternoon at Dutchess Stadium. Aaron Palensky and Aldenis Sanchez each stole two bases, and Trey Sweeney, Eduardo Torrealba, Cooper Bowman all swiped one each.
WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY (May 25, 2022) — The Hudson Valley Renegades stole seven bases en route to an 8-4 win over the Rome Braves on Wednesday afternoon at Dutchess Stadium.
Aaron Palensky and Aldenis Sanchez each stole two bases, and Trey Sweeney, Eduardo Torrealba, Cooper Bowman all swiped one each.
The Renegades jumped in front in the bottom of the first against Rome starter Roddery Muñoz. Spencer Henson laced an RBI single to right field to give Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead.
The Braves answered in the top of the second against Renegades starter Will Warren. Tyler Tolve lined an RBI single to level the score at one.
Rome grabbed the lead in the top of the third, when Landon Stephens blasted a towering three-run homer to give the Braves a 4-1 lead.
Warren (2-3) lasted six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out six and walking none in the first quality start of his career.

Hudson Valley responded with seven unanswered runs. In the bottom of the fifth, Eric Wagaman knocked an RBI single off Lisandro Santos (1-3) to cut the deficit to 4-3. In the following frame, Spencer Henson crushed a three-run homer to put the Renegades in front 6-4.

Henson reached base four times on the day, scoring three runs and driving in four.
In the bottom of the seventh, Wagaman lined a solo homer to left to extend the Hudson Valley lead to 7-4.
Trey Sweeney added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single to make it 8-4 Renegades.
Ryan Miller closed out the win with a perfect ninth inning, striking out the side in order.
Hudson Valley continues its six-game series with Rome Thursday night. RHP Matt Sauer (1-1, 4.41) takes the ball for Hudson Valley, while Rome tabs LHP Dylan Dodd (4-2, 4.46). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Dutchess Stadium. Coverage begins on the Renegades Baseball Network at 6:45.
