WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 24, 2022) – The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped a tight contest to the Winston-Salem Dash 2-1 on Friday night at Truist Stadium.

Beck Way was stellar once again for Hudson Valley, allowing just one run on one hit in 5.2 innings, walking two and striking out five while getting no decision. He has allowed one earned run or fewer in five of his last six starts.

The Renegades took the lead in the top of the second inning when Tyler Hardman launched a leadoff home run to left off Chase Solesky. The long ball was his eighth of the season, tying him for the team lead, and his fifth in the month of June.

Winston-Salem got even in the bottom of the fourth when Way allowed a solo home run to Colson Montgomery. Way recovered by retiring the final eight batters he faced in the game.

The Dash took the lead in the seventh against Carlos Gomez, when Luis Mieses doubled and scored two batters later on a throwing error by Trey Sweeney.

In the top of the ninth still trailing 2-1, Everson Pereira blooped a one-out single to right-center, but was stranded as the Renegades couldn’t rally to bring him home.

The Renegades finished with only five hits on the game, but Anthony Seigler finished 2-for-4 with a double. He raised his season batting average to .319 and his OPS to a team-best 1.011.

Hudson Valley continues its series with Winston-Salem and Saturday night at Truist Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Coverage begins on the Renegades Baseball Network at 5:45. RHP Yoendrys Gómez (0-0, 0.00) toes the slab for the Renegades, RHP Matthew Thompson (2-4, 4.48) climbs the hill for the Dash.
