Chukars Score 15 on 19 Hits in Win

The Idaho Falls Chukars trailed 6-5 after 3 innings but scored 10 unanswered runs over the next 6 innings to win 15-6 over the Ogden Raptors at Lindquist Field on Wednesday night.
The Chukars had 8 extra base hits in the game, including 6 doubles. Bubba Starling made his Chukars debut while on a rehab assignment. He hit 2 doubles in the game, including an RBI double in the 4th inning. Starling was the 5th overall pick of the 2011 draft.
It was also the Chukars debut for third baseman Rubendy Jaquez, who went 1 for 4 with a sac bunt, a run scored and an RBI. He hit .303 for the AZL Royals this year.
Jose Caraballo got the scoring started with a 2 RBI double in the first inning. Caraballo went 4 for 6 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. He's hitting an even .300 on the year.
It was also a great game for Nate Eaton, who went 3 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Eaton finished a double short of the cycle. Eaton led off the 6th inning by hitting his 4th home run of the year. He leads the league with a .365 batting average.
The Chukars scored in every inning except the 3rd and 5th innings. They benefited from 7 Raptors errors in the game. Brett de Geus was the losing pitcher, allowing 7 runs but only 3 of them were earned. He falls to 4-5 on the year. 6 of the 15 runs by the Chukars were unearned runs.
CJ Eldred got the win to go to 6-2 on the year. Eldred allowed 6 runs in the first 3 innings of the game but finished strong, working 3 scoreless innings to end his outing. He only walked 1 batter and has walked only 10 in 56 innings this year.
The bullpen was really good once again for the Chukars. Jordan Floyd pitched 2 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit. Daniel James walked 2 and hit a batter but didn't give up a run.
The biggest thing tonight was the Chukars got help in the standings as Orem came back to win 8-7 over Grand Junction. Idaho Falls is 1.5 games behind Grand Junction and Ogden for first place in the 2nd half Southern division. Idaho Falls is 0.5 games back in the wild card race.
Thursday night is the final road game of the regular season for the Chukars. They take on the Raptors at Lindquist Field. 6:30 pm first pitch.
Chukars notes: The Chukars have scored 34 runs in the last 2 games in Ogden. It was the 1 month anniversary of the infamous 20-19 Ogden win over the Chukars, which was the last time the Chukars played in Ogden. Idaho Falls was 6 for 22 with runners in scoring position. Eaton hit his 12th triple of the season, which extends his Pioneer League lead. Along with Bubba Starling and Rubendy Jaquez, The Chukars added pitchers Zach Haake, Rylan Kaufman and Andrew Edwards to the roster. Haake will start for the Chukars on Thursday night. He was a 6th round pick by the Royals. Kyle Kasser had a big game. He went 4 for 6. Caraballo also went 4 for 6 in the game. Each player hit a double. For Caraballo, his double gives him 22 on the year, tying him for the league lead with Chukars 1B Reed Rohlman. Time of game: 3:05. Attendance: 2,351.
