CHUKARS TO ANNOUNCE PARTICIPATION IN COPA DE LA DIVERSION

Chukars to rebrand as part of MiLB's Latino outreach program

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - On Thursday, November 14 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Idaho Falls, at 10:15 AM, the Chukars will make public their selection to participate in MiLB's heralded Copa de la Diversion program for the 2020 baseball season.

Copa de la Diversion is a successful program MiLB has supported for the last two seasons as way to celebrate the Hispanic communities across the country and in minor league cities. The initiative aims to honor these fans and their culture by changing the name, logo and uniforms used by the Idaho Falls baseball team.

The name will be revealed live with the other participating MiLB teams, the Chukars will be participating in the "cultural icons" group. While the new identity is not available to the public until the unveiling, the Chukars are promising the name will be historic, something that has never been done in the 4 major professional sports.

"We're proud to be a part of this extremely successful program and excited to work with Minor League Baseball to better integrate ourselves in the Southeast Idaho Hispanic community," said Kevin Green, President of the Idaho Falls Chukars. "We are also very proud of the identity we have created, and we feel confident it is something that will have an impact far beyond Southeast Idaho."
