INDIANAPOLIS – A bases-clearing double off the bat of Taylor Davis and two Hunter Owen home runs lifted the Indianapolis Indians to a comeback win over the St. Paul Saints on Saturday night, 9-5.

With a 2-1 lead following Owen’s first home run of the game in the second inning, the Indians (56-62) put up four runs in back-to-back innings. Diego Castillo tied the game in the third inning on a sacrifice fly, and with two outs and the bases loaded Taylor Davis roped a single inside the third-base bag to score three more off Bryan Sammons (L, 1-3).

The Saints (61-58) scored two in the top of the fourth inning to make it a one-run game, but Pirates rehabber Michael Chavis and Owen each homered in the bottom half to highlight Indy’s second four-run frame and extend the lead past St. Paul’s reach, 9-4.

Keury Mella (W, 2-0) surrendered the fifth St. Paul run in the sixth inning following a one-out single to Jimmy Kerrigan. Cam Alldred (S, 1) entered in the seventh inning and tossed three scoreless frames.

The contest was Owen’s second two-homer game of the season, his first coming on Aug. 6 at Iowa. Chavis and Davis each led the team with three hits.

The Indians and Saints will face off for the final time this season on Sunday at 1:35 PM ET. In a rematch of Tuesday night, RHP Beau Sulser (6-7, 4.91) will face off vs. RHP Drew Strotman (9-3, 4.71).
