INDIANAPOLIS - Casey Sadler posted 2.1 scoreless innings on the mound and slashed a go-ahead, two-run single at the plate to carry the Tribe to a 5-3 win over Louisville on Tuesday afternoon at Victory Field. Ryan Lavarnway doubled and scored two times as Indy won for the seventh time in its last 10 games.

Indianapolis (23-19) moved four games above .500 behind timely hits, superb defense and continued dominance from the relief corps.
Casey Sadler (W, 3-2) inherited a bases-loaded jam with two outs in the top of the fourth but quickly retired D.J. Peterson on a deep flyout to center. In the home half - following a leadoff single by Lavarnway and double by Wyatt Mathisen - Sadler slapped his two-RBI knock down the right-field line to put Indy back in front, 4-3.
Jordan Luplow picked up his team-high fifth outfield assist with a perfectly-executed relay home to cut down Dilson Herrera in the top of the fifth.
Then in the sixth, Lavarnway's double and two deep flyouts off the bats of Mathisen and Jerrick Suiter extended Indy's lead to two.
Dovydas Neverauskas struck out a season-high five batters in two shutout frames, and Johnny Hellweg induced a game-ending double play for the fifth time this season to earn his ninth save.
The Tribe tallied two runs in the first on just one hit to grab a 2-1 advantage. Kevin Newman walked and reached second safely via an error on a potential 6-4-3 double play. Instead, the miscue by second baseman Herrera immediately led to a two-run double by Luplow.
Louisville (13-28) leveled the game at two on three singles and a bases-loaded walk worked by Phillip Ervin in the second. They then took a brief 3-2 lead in the fourth as Holmes issued three walks, misplayed a sacrifice bunt and uncorked a wild pitch.
The Indians bullpen lowered their season ERA to 3.16 with Holmes' start ending after 3.2 innings of three-run ball. He walked five and fanned seven in the no-decision.
Bats lefty Cody Reed (L, 0-3) was charged with four runs (three earned) on six hits in five innings of work.
Indy and Louisville continue their four-game series with a 1:35 p.m. start on Wednesday, May 23 at The Vic. Right-hander Austin Coley (1-2, 9.00) will start for the Tribe, opposite Bats righty Robert Stephenson (3-4, 3.89).
