INDIANAPOLIS - Tribe outfielder Danny Ortiz has been named the Indians Player of the Week after a solid four-game stretch in matchups at Columbus and Gwinnett. 

INDIANAPOLIS - Tribe outfielder Danny Ortiz has been named the Indians Player of the Week after a solid four-game stretch in matchups at Columbus and Gwinnett. 

Ortiz hit .474 (9-for-19) in four games with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored. The 27-year-old hit two home runs and drove in four RBI in the Indians' 21-1 win over Columbus. It was the fifth multi-home run game of his career and his second this season. It was also the second time in 2017 he drove in four runs. Ortiz capped off his strong week with a 4-for-4 performance at Gwinnett in the final game before the All-Star break.
His nine hits during the stretch were the second highest in Triple-A, while his 17 total bases and eight RBI ranked him tied for first.
Honorable Mention: Infielder Eric Wood was also in the running for Player of the Week after hitting .375 (6-for-16) with two home runs, a triple, seven RBI, four runs scored and two walks. Wood leads all active players on the Indians roster with 11 home runs.
