Everybody Hits in 66ers 6-3 Win at Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino evened a three-game set at Lake Elsinore on Wednesday with a 6-3 victory over the Storm (17-23). Every batter in the Inland Empire (19-21) lineup had at least one hit with Julian Leon delivering a pair of doubles. Inland Empire trailed 2-1 entering the seventh inning and scored two runs leading to the club's first win all year when trailing after six innings (1-17).
Inland Empire got a run in the first against Storm starter Ronald Bolaños when Luis Rengifo singled to open the game, stole second for his league-best 19th theft, moved to third on a grounder and came home on a wild pitch. Sixers starter Erik Manoah Jr. held Lake Elsinore down until the fifth when he allowed a pair of runs. The righty walked just one in 4.2 IP and matched a career-high with nine Ks. Leon opened the seventh with a double for IE and came home on Rengifo's game-tying two-bagger. The Sixers took a 3-2 lead off Storm reliever Emmanuel Ramirez when Jared Walsh's RBI single scored Rengifo; it was Walsh's team-best 31st RBI. Inland Empire padded the lead in the eight with two runs on a sac fly by Leon and a RBI single from DJ Jenkins. IE made it a 6-2 advantage in the ninth when Jahmai Jones reached on an infield single and eventually scored on Kevin Williams Jr.' RBI fielder's choice. The Storm got a run in the ninth on Robbie Podorsky's RBI single. Buddy Reed was 3-for-4 in the game and is now batting .605 in nine games against the Sixers.
