Lancaster, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino gave up a season-worst run total on Friday night at Lancaster falling 15-4 to the JetHawks (35-37, 2-0). The Sixers (33-39, 0-2) have dropped their first two games of the second half and are now 11-9 versus Lancaster in 2018.
The JetHawks got on the board Brian Serven's solo homer to right against IE starter Nate Bertness (1-5) in the second. Serven, who homered on Tuesday, also homered in the fifth inning to give him three in the series and seven on the year. Lancaster blasted way with six runs in the third inning sending 11 batters to the plate. IE cut the deficit to 7-3 in the fifth against JetHawks starter David Hill (2-2) as Jo Adell ripped a RBI single, Jordan Zimmerman followed with a RBI double and Julian capped the scoring with a RBI single. The JetHawks immediately responded dropping another six-run inning in the bottom of the fifth and never looked back. Eighth of the nine JetHawks had at least one base-hit. Steven Linkous was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a steal and is 5-for-6 with two walks and five RBI in the series. Alan Trejo had three hits including a double and a triple and knocked home three. Adell, David Mackinnon and Jordan Zimmerman all had two-hit games for the Sixers, Zimmerman had a triple to go along with his two-bagger.
