Goldberg first 2013 draftee to Dash

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 24, 2013) -- The Chicago White Sox have promoted right-handed pitcher Brad Goldberg from the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators to the Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem Dash today. There is no corresponding move at this time.

Goldberg, 23, went 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA over 12 relief appearances with Kannapolis, striking out 37 batters over 25.1 innings. He held South Atlantic League hitters to a .120 average (10-83) after joining the Intimidators on June 29 from Advanced Rookie Great Falls. The White Sox drafted Goldberg in the 10th round of the June 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Ohio State where he went 6-1 with a 2.99 ERA in 15 starts for the Buckeyes this season.

The White Sox have now promoted 13 players from Kannapolis to Winston-Salem this season. Goldberg joins Jason Van Skike, Adam Heisler, Rangel Ravelo, Brandon Hardin, Myles Jaye, Jake Cose, Josh Richmond, Joe Dvorsky, Micah Johnson, Braulio Ortiz, Mike Recchia and J.B. Wendelken. Goldberg is the first member of Chicago's 2013 draft class to reach High-A.
