2014 Iowa Cubs internships

Application, interview process under way
September 16, 2013

The Iowa Cubs have paid internships available in several departments for the 2014 baseball season. Applicants should have a strong interest in gaining experience in the sports industry, be highly motivated and hard working, and have a willingness to learn and to work long hours and weekends during the summer months. [Note: Many internships are filled already and no longer posted here.]

Internships are available in media relations, retail, sales and marketing, group ticket sales, stadium operations, ticket operations and video production. Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to the appropriate contact.

Video Production
Camera work and basic video graphics production for internet webcasts, closed-circuit television system in the ballpark, and video boards in the stadium. Four camera operators and four/five control room persons will work each game. Contact Scott Sailor Note: Application deadline: February 17.

Photo
The photographer will join the communications team and work selected games during the season at Principal Park. Photos of fans and groups, and other special events, at the game are needed for the Iowa Cubs' web site and various publications. Some game-action photography is needed as well. The Iowa Cubs also host the 28-game high school state baseball tournament in late July at Principal Park. Action and fan photos are needed from each game, and photos are uploaded to the tournament web site immediately after each game. This position is mostly "game-time" only - and probably for fewer than half of the 72-game Iowa Cubs home schedule (mostly weekends and nights of special events). There might be extra opportunities for photos for other non-game events as well as production work. Contact Scott Sailor Note: Application deadline: February 17.
