Antigua Returns to I-Cubs

Albuquerque, NM - The Chicago Cubs have promoted LH Jeff Antigua to Iowa from double-A Tennessee. He will be available out of the bullpen tonight in Albuquerque.

Antigua is 2-1 with a 4.61 ERA (7ER/13.2IP) in five games, including one start, in his first two stints with Iowa this season. He has walked six and struck out 14. Antigua began the season with single-A Kane County and is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA (7ER/25.2IP) and one save in 13 games over three stints with the Cougars. His most recent appearance was with double-A Tennessee and he allowed two runs on two hits in 2.2 innings, walked two, and struck out four in his lone appearance for the Smokies.

The Cubs will finish last night's rain suspended game in Albuquerque today at 5:05 Central time. RH Esmailin Caridad (3-2, 5.70) will pick up the action on the mound for the Cubs and RH Sean White (2-4, 3.53) will be on the mound for the 'Topes. Tonight's regularly scheduled game will be a seven-inning contest and follow the completion of the suspended game. RH Barret Loux (4-2, 4.56) will start for the Cubs against RH Angel Castro (4-2, 3.34) for Albuquerque. All of the action will be broadcast live on AM 940 and streamed live on iowacubs.com with the pre-game show starting at 4:45.
