MEMPHIS, TN -  The Iowa Cubs (3-6) scored seven runs between the eighth and ninth innings to capture a 9-4 win over the Memphis Redbirds (9-2), Sunday at AutoZone Park. Iowa's breakout offense included 11 hits and three home runs.

David Bote began the scoring, blasting a solo home run in the third - his second in as many days. Mark Zagunis duplicated the effort in the fourth with his first home run of the season to put Iowa ahead 2-0. Memphis retaliated in the bottom of the fourth with a three-run shot off the bat of Patrick Wisdom and the Redbirds hung on to a 3-2 lead until the late innings.
Ryan Court led off the eighth with a single to spark Iowa's comeback. Bote followed with a one-out single before Taylor Davis drew a walk to load the bags. Zagunis brought his RBI total to three for the day, adding a two-RBI double. Chris Gimenez hit a sacrifice fly and the fourth run of the frame was scored on a Chesny Young single as the I-Cubs batted around.
Court continued the scoring brigade in the ninth, leading off with his first home run of the season. Two consecutive extra-base hits from Mike Freeman and Bote led to two more runs in the inning for Iowa. Oscar Mercado fought back with a home run in the bottom of the inning, but the deficit could not be recovered.
Rob Zastryzny (1-0) gave Iowa 2.0 scoreless innings of relief and captured his first win of the season. Arturo Reyes (1-1) took the loss.
Iowa and Memphis wrap up the series with an 11:05 start tomorrow at AutoZone Park. Follow the action on AM 940, MiLB.TV or www.iowacubs.com.
