Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, is designing, manufacturing and installing a new ribbon display in the left field of Principal Park, home of the Iowa Cubs. The 130 feet of LED technology is being installed this month and will be operation before the start of the 2017 season.
"We're very excited to add another great Daktronics board to Principal Park," said Iowa Cubs principal owner Michael Gartner. "Our big main video board has been a big hit with fans and sponsors the past two seasons. And the new board in left field will add to the game-day experience for fans at the 71 Iowa Cubs games as well as the 28 high school state tournament games we host each summer."
The display will measure more than 7 feet high by 130 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout to provide vibrant imagery with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the ballpark. It brings with it the capability to highlight scores and statistics which baseball fans are accustomed to as well as the ability to highlight sponsors throughout every game.
"We're honored to be called upon again by the Iowa Cubs to ensure their game-day is top notch," said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. "The new ribbon display in left field will add to the in-game capabilities of the team and will provide fans even more stats and information that they like to see at the games as well as provide sponsors a dynamic way to share their message. It will be a great addition for the upcoming season."
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
