Built around power hitting and defensive hustle, Home Run Derby X is making it's Des Moines debut Saturday, August 30 with marquee names taking the stage. But what is it?
Home Run Derby X is an exciting 3-on-3 co-ed competition, with each team consisting of two MLB legend and a female player from the softball and baseball world. Each game will take about 30 minutes, giving two teams the chance to go head to head, earning points on offense for home runs hit during a 2 minute and 30 second at bat, and on defense for catches on the field. Bonus points are earned by hitting home runs through a centerfield target. During each at bat, batters can call for a hot streak of 5 swings where everything counts double. In the final minute of an at bat, batters can tag in a teammate to finish with a flourish.
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. It's that simple.

Looking for a little extra excitement? Check out the Home Run Zone—a designated area where fans can earn bonus points every time a home run is hit. Seating in the Home Run Zone is general admission with bleacher seats or standing-room-only options. Availability is limited and first-come, first-serve, so grab yours early!

Due to the nature of Home Run Derby X, please be aware that home runs are expected to be hit into the Home Run Zone throughout the entire event, more often than a traditional baseball game and purchasers should be mindful of this when buying tickets. As always, please be alert for balls hit into the stands and the Home Run Zone.
Parking is limited and is first come, first serve.
Parking lots will open at 3:00 PM, two hours before the gates open.
Skybox Suites include ten tickets and two parking passes for $650. Additional Skybox tickets can be purchased for $30 each.
Bud Club tables include four tickets and all you can eat food and drink for $300 per table.

The only bags allowed inside Principal Park are CLEAR BAGS smaller than 12"x12"x6". Small clutches no larger than 6"×8" will also be permitted. Exceptions ONLY allowed for medical equipment bags and diaper bags for families accompanied by small children. All bags are subject to search by Iowa Cubs staff or security personnel. No outside food or drink is allowed to be brought into Principal Park.
Limit 1 bag per person
We are a cashless facility. Cash will NOT be accepted. We will accept debit or credit payments only. Two reverse ATM machines are available inside Principal Park near the JP Party Rentals Fan Services Center behind home plate.
Cubbie Dollars will also be accepted inside Principal Park.
