DES MOINES, IA - A bases-loaded, four-pitch walk to Bijan Rademacher in the 10th inning pushed the Iowa Cubs (19-29) to a 5-4 victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes (23-27), Sunday at Principal Park.

The I-Cubs and Baby Cakes took a 4-4 tie into extra innings and Cory Mazzoni was able to hold the visiting team in the top of the frame to give Iowa a chance. With Mike Freeman beginning the inning on second, Taylor Davis grounded out to move the runner 90 feet from home. David Bote was intentionally walked and quickly stole second on a Jacob Hannemann strikeout. New Orleans intentionally walked Ryan Court to get to Rademacher and the outfielder's patience paid off as he forced in the winning run with a walk.
Iowa cracked the scoreboard in the third as Chesny Young sparked the scoring drive with a single to leadoff the frame. Stephen Bruno was hit by a pitch to set the stage for Freeman with two runners on. On a 2-2 count, Freeman roped a single to center to bring in one run. Bote followed with a two-RBI single to give Iowa a 3-0 lead. Court helped Iowa add to the edge with a leadoff homer in the fourth, his fifth of the year.
In the next frame, an Austin Dean two-run homer cut Iowa's lead in half. Cristhian Adames duplicated the effort in the eighth to tie the game at 4-4 and ultimately force extra innings.
Making a spot-start, Kyle Ryan didn't allow a hit through three innings, while he walked three and fanned three. Mazzoni (3-2) pitched two scoreless innings to capture the win. It marked his third extra-inning decision this season.
Iowa and New Orleans play a 1:08 Memorial Day game tomorrow at Principal Park. Military members will receive $3 Reserved Grandstand tickets and 20% off all Iowa Cubs Team Store purchases. For more information or tickets, visit www.iowacubs.com.
