Bierfeldt Named Player of the Month

Big bat led Aberdeen to the McNamara Division title

St. Petersburg, FL - The Topps Company of New York, NY, and Minor League Baseball today announced the August Player of the Month for each league in Minor League Baseball. Aberdeen's Conor Bierfeldt was bestowed the honor of the New York-Penn League Player of the Month.

Bierfeldt helped the IronBirds to a 15-11 mark in the month of August, including an 8-4 mark at Ripken Stadium. Bierfeldt batted .345 during the month, and led all New York-Penn League hitters with a .667 slugging percentage and a 1.108 OPS percentage.

He led the IronBirds with 18 RBIs during the month and five home runs, playing in 24 of the team's 26 games. He collected 30 base hits, including nine doubles and a pair of triples, and scored 18 runs.

The IronBirds finished the regular season with a 40-32 record and winners of the McNamara Division, earning a playoff berth for the first time in franchise history.
