Straight from the Chesapeake

(by way of Rehoboth, Delaware)

As far as ballpark fare goes, Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium has some of the best. It gets even better in 2017 with the introduction of Chesapeake Fresh featuring Dogfish Head. Earlier this year, I challenged our food and beverage staff to come up with some cool, new creations that I thought you, our fans, would enjoy. After a particularly lengthy brainstorming session, one smarty pants on my staff said, "Matt, this is Maryland. We do hot dogs well already… let's start thinking fresh and local. We need to talk seafood." At that moment, a lightbulb went off if my head and Chesapeake Fresh featuring Dogfish Head was born.

Think homemade crab cakes that would make Cal, Sr. proud, a hot crab dip in a pretzel bowl that even the most discerning Marylander would call 'authentic' and grilled fish tacos prepared fresh with a salsa featuring this summer's hottest cold brew, SeaQuench, by Dogfish Head.

It doesn't get much better than this. As if fantastic, fresh and local seafood wasn't enough, Chesapeake Fresh featuring Dogfish Head is the ballpark's first ever craft beer destination. With a minimum of four Dogfish Head beers on tap each and every night, and with wall mounted televisions so you won't miss even a pitch of Orioles action, there isn't a better ballpark spot to enjoy an IronBirds game from. On Thursday nights, when the IronBirds celebrate #ThrowbackThursday by wearing a variation of the club's original 'airplane' uniforms, you'll enjoy throwback pricing within the newly created area. A special weekly rotating Dogfish Head canned beer will be available all game long. Enjoy your icy cold, Delaware brew hand-in-hand with a homemade crab cake. There hasn't been a better combination since Cal and Bill were busy turning two for the O's.
