IronBirds Announce 2014 Promotions Schedule

Aberdeen, MD - The Aberdeen IronBirds today announced its Promotions Schedule for the 2014 season. Fan favorites such as Firework Nights and Dollar Dog Days return, along with new promotions including the world-famous Cowboy Monkey Rodeo act. The IronBirds will also host a Ripken bobblehead series, featuring the likes of Cal, Bill and Cal, Sr.

"We are excited to announce our promotion schedule," said IronBirds' General Manager Joe Harrington. "We have received positive feedback from our fans on some of the traditional favorites, but are equally as excited to provide our fans with fresh, next acts including the always entertaining Cowboy Monkey Rodeo."

Opening Night for the 2013 McNamara Division champions is June 20th against the Brooklyn Cyclones. Gates open at 6:00 pm, where the first 873 fans will receive a 2014 IronBirds Magnet Schedule, presented by Wawa. Following the final out, there will be a fireworks display presented by Fireworks Extravaganza.

The IronBirds will host seven additional Fireworks Nights this summer on Saturday, June 28th; Thursday, July 3rd; Friday, July 11th; Friday, July 25th; Saturday July 26th; Saturday, August 9th; and the grand finale firework show on Friday, August 22nd. Dollar Dog Days presented by Esskay, also returns this season with $1 hot dogs available for purchase at every Sunday home game.

New to Ripken Stadium this year is Rodeo Night, hosted on July 10th, and features world-famous entertainment act, Cowboy Monkey Rodeo. His act has been featured at ballparks across the country and seen on ESPN.

The IronBirds will provide fans with a classic keepsake during its exclusive Ripken Bobblehead Series, starting with Bill Ripken on Friday, August 8th, presented by Boyle Buick. The second bobblehead night is Monday, August 11th, when the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation honors the Ripken family patriarch and originator of "The Ripken Way," Cal Sr. The final bobblehead night will feature Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. on Sunday, August 24th, presented by AT&T.

There will be multiple giveaways this season, each to the first 873 fans entering the stadium, including a McNamara Division championship pennant (June 22nd), Maryland flag hat (June 27th), T-shirt (July 14th, August 10th, and September 1st), Camo Hat (August 7th), Pashmina Scarf (August 21st) and Lunch Box (August 31st).

Superman and his friends will defend Ripken Stadium on Tuesday, June 24th for Super Hero Night, as well as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, who return for Star Wars Night on Saturday, July 12th. Santa will be checking his list when he makes his annual visit to Aberdeen on Friday, July 25th. The IronBirds will also proudly honor local Military heroes at Military Night on Thursday, August 7th.
