Aberdeen, Md. - Ripken Baseball today announced plans for the inaugural Ripken Cup collegiate baseball invitational between University of Maryland and Towson University. The two-game series will be hosted at Ripken Stadium on Tuesday, April 15 and Wednesday, May 7 at 7:05 pm.

"We are thrilled to host two great collegiate baseball programs at Ripken Stadium this Spring," said Joe Harrington, General Manager of the Aberdeen IronBirds. "Our team is looking forward to providing both the student athletes and the fans with a memorable, big league experience."

"We are thrilled that the Ripkens have taken an interest in college baseball and are sponsoring this series between two fine college baseball programs. This can only help baseball in the state of Maryland," stated Mike Gottlieb, Towson University head baseball coach.
