Aberdeen goes down 6-5

ABERDEEN, MD - Friday night the Aberdeen Steamed Crabs took over Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. Rain kicked in during the 8th and Aberdeen took the loss 6-3.

GET COOKIN': Cameron Ming was on the mound for the Steamed Crabs and induced three double plays in his four innings of work. In the second Aberdeen started the scoring with an RBI-triple by Garret Copeland. Ryan Ripken knocked him home from third to make it 2-0 Steamed Crabs after two innings.

SLOW BOIL: Neither team would make much happen until the seventh. Josh Keaton and Max Knutson combined for two more scoreless innings. Aberdeen stranded two in scoring position in the fourth.

Back to back two RBI base hits by Bligh Madriss and Tristan Gray made the seventh a four run inning for the Black Bears. Aberdeen answered in the bottom of the inning with a run off an RBI from Kirvin Moesquit.

CRABS BELONG IN WATER: Rain came to Leidos Field in the 8th. West Virginia put two runs up in the top of the inning after three four balls got passed Ben Breazeale. Chris Sharpe and Sandy Santos knocked in RBIs.

Game one was delayed after the Steamed Crabs failed to answer in the bottom of the inning. It ended early and Aberdeen took the loss 6-3

CRAB WATCHING: Aberdeen is now 0-1 as the Steamed Crabs. They have now lost 4 of the last five games.

UP NEXT: Tommorrow the IronBirds return at 6:05 PM to Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.
