IronPigs Add to Media and Broadcast Team

Matt Sutor and John Skudris Join Organization
February 18, 2013

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have added two new pieces to their media relations and broadcasting department, as Matt Sutor joins the organization as media relations assistant, while John Skudris will serve as the broadcasting assistant.

Sutor is in his first season as a media relations assistant with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. A graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York; Sutor acted as color commentator for the Red Foxes' women's basketball team during the 2012 season. Prior to joining the IronPigs, he was Director of Communications for the Sydney Blue Sox and color commentator for Fox Sports' Game of the Week coverage of the Australian Baseball League. Sutor has vast experience in baseball communications, including stints as a broadcasting intern for the New Jersey Jackals and as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Morehead City Marlins. A Communications major with a focus on Sports Communications and Journalism, Sutor coaches CYO boys' basketball during the offseason, proving that his knowledge of sports is both well-rounded and well-intentioned. Sutor will contribute to the team's media efforts, including updating the team's website and social media pages, while also assisting in the editing and writing of the team's media guide and programs.

In addition to Sutor's media relations work, the Pigs' broadcast team also adds Skudris, who will serve as a pre and post-game host and provide in-game updates on the team's radio broadcast in his first season with the organization. A self-professed "stat nerd," Skudris graduated from Boston College with a Political Science degree in May, 2012. During his time in Chestnut Hill, he acted as a play-by-play commentator for BC baseball, football, men's basketball, and men's hockey on 90.3 FM WZBC. He also served as a part-time color commentator for the BC women's basketball team during the 2012 season. From 2011-2012, the Doylestown, PA native was Promotions Director at WZBC Sports, serving as the liaison between interested sponsors and the department. Prior to attending BC, Skudris attended Bucks County Community College serving as Student Body President and Managing Editor/Political Editorialist for the school's newspaper, The Centurion.

The new duo replaces Tim Doohan and Adam Dobrowolski, who served as media relations assistant and studio host respectively in 2012.

As in the past, fans can catch IronPigs action all season long as Matt Provence and Jon Schaeffer will be on the air for the fifth consecutive season on ESPN 1230-1320 AM or via an internet stream provided by PenTeleData. The season kicks off April 4 when the IronPigs host the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca-Cola Park.
