Game Notes for Today, June 15

TONIGHT'S GAME: Albuquerque continues their four-game homestand tonight against the Memphis Redbirds at Isotopes Park. The Redbirds are the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals and are currently in first place in the American Northern Division. The Isotopes hit the road for five games in four days against the Storm Chasers at Werner Park before returning home again next Saturday, June 22. After last night's win, the Isotopes are currently a game and a half behind the first-place Round Rock Express and Oklahoma City RedHawks in the American Southern Division.

RUFFLING THEIR FEATHER: Chris Capuano and Matt Magill combined to surrender just two hits and two runs in yesterday's 7-2 Isotopes win over the Redbirds. In his first rehab start since landing on the disabled list retroactive to May 30, Capuano tossed four innings of scoreless ball (58 pitches), allowing one hit, two walks and striking out five. Magill followed with five frames of one-hit ball, the only runs on the night coming off of a Brock Peterson two-run home run. Magill earned the win, fanning four and walking four. Four Isotopes collected a multi-hit game and two a multi-RBI game. The Isotopes won their second straight game last night after alternating a win and a loss in 13 consecutive matchups prior to last night.

HE'S GREAATTT: Tony Gwynn Jr. knocked a team-high four hits for a second straight game. Aside from Gwynn Jr.'s steal last nigt, the Albuquerque center fielder scored a run and drove in another. He is batting .429 (15-for-35) over the last 10 games and has scored five runs while driving in six. He also has blasted a home run during that stretch.

VS. MEMPHIS: This is the Topes third of four series this season against the Redbirds. Albuquerque took three of four at Isotopes Park in their first series, then did the same at AutoZone Park to end the month of May. The Isotopes will head back to AutoZone Park to complete their regular-season meetings at the end of the month. Albuquerque and Memphis split their season series in 2012, each winning eight games. The Isotopes hold a 94-77 advantage all-time over the Redbirds, and are an even better 52-34 at home against Memphis in their history.

SWIPERS KEEP SWIPING: The Isotopes stole two more bases in last night's win, bringing their season total to 71. The club leads the league as a team in stolen bases. Dee Gordon leads the Isotopes with 19 stolen bases after stealing second in the fourth inning. At third in the PCL, Gordon is five steals away from the league-lead. Tony Gwynn Jr. followed with his fourth steal in as many games, also swiping second in the fourth inning last night. He is now at seven on the season.

SELLING: Justin Sellers has been one of the hotter Isotopes. He is hitting exactly .400 (8-for-20) with two runs scored and six RBI over his last five games. After rejoining the Isotopes yesterday, June 14, the Albuquerque infielder went 2-for-3 from the dish last night and was one of two Isotopes with a multi-RBI game. Both of Sellers RBI came in the clutch with two outs in the frame. He also scored a run in the contest accounting for three of Albuquerque's seven runs.

CARD SHARKS: The date for the baseball card team set giveaway has been moved from June 24 to July 8.
