Mayor Richard J. Berry has officially declared June 16 "Albuquerque Green Chile Cheeseburgers Day" in the City of Albuquerque.
On that date, the Isotopes will change their name, for one night only, to the Albuquerque Green Chile Cheeseburgers and will take on the Fresno Tacos in the biggest food fight in baseball history.
"The Mayor's proclamation is just another example of how this community is really sinking their teeth into this night," said Isotopes General Manager John Traub.
On June 16, Isotopes Park will be decked out in a Green Chile Cheeseburger theme, with green chile cheeseburger sliders being served throughout the ballpark's concession stands. Green chiles will be roasted on the concourse, as "The Lab" will also be transformed into "The Grill." After the game, fans will also be treated to a post-game fireworks extravaganza.
Tickets for Green Chile Cheeseburgers night are still available and can be purchased through abqisotopes.com or by visiting the Isotopes Park Box Office.
