Million-Dollar Videoboard to be Ready by Opening Night

Something Big is Coming to Isotopes Park
February 26, 2014

The Albuquerque Isotopes announced today the addition of a new high-definition LED videoboard which will be installed at Isotopes Park in time for Opening Night on April 11.

The HD10 mm pixel pitch videoboard will be the largest HD10 LED display in Minor League Baseball. The board will contain more than 1.7 million LEDs. The 55' wide by 35' tall high-definition board will be used to feature game information, line score, instant replays, close-ups of players and fans, in-game promotions and corporate partner marketing opportunities.

Isotopes Park will now feature two videoboards, as the existing board will remain intact to supplement the in-game presentation.

"Fans are going to walk into Isotopes Park this year and say 'WOW' when they see this board," said Isotopes General Manager John Traub. "We are taking the best ballpark in the Minor Leagues and making it even better. Our fans are really going to be proud of this board."

The project represents a million-dollar investment into the home of the Albuquerque Isotopes, enhancing the outstanding experience Isotopes fans have enjoyed since the team's inaugural 2003 season. The board is being paid for exclusively by the Isotopes organization. It is the latest in a series of Isotopes-funded improvements into city-owned Isotopes Park. Including this project, the Isotopes have invested more than $3.2 million in a variety of projects since starting play in the renovated facility in 2003.

"We are grateful that we have the type of relationship with the City of Albuquerque that keeps the facility in great working order and that allows the community to take a special type of pride in their venue," said Traub. "The Department of Municipal Development has been an outstanding partner and is committed to keeping Isotopes Park at the top of the list in terms of the best facilities in the country."

The new videoboard was purchased from Dallas-based TS Sports, a cutting edge audio/video integration company that specializes in complete high resolution video solutions. HD10 technology is environmentally friendly and energy efficient, producing exceptional image resolution and remarkable brightness. The board will boast additional pixels while consuming less power to help with cost and savings.

Individual game tickets for the 2014 season go on sale Saturday, March 8 starting at 10:00 am at Isotopes Park, online and through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices will remain unchanged. Fans are invited to see the progress of the videoboard's construction in-person during the March 8 on-sale event.
