JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, used strong pitching from Justin Donatella to gain a 10-2 victory over the Mobile BayBears on Friday at The Ballpark at Jackson.

The Generals (48-43, 9-13 Second Half) won their first back-to-back games in more than a week, stepping up their season series lead over the BayBears (48-41, 11-10 Second Half) to 4-2.
Donatella (4-5, 3.28 ERA) registered his longest home outing of the year, tossing 6.2 innings while allowing just two runs (one earned) and five hits. After giving up a solo home run to Jose Rojas and an RBI single to Zach Gibbons in the second, Donatella didn't' allow another run to score, retiring ten of the final eleven hitters he faced. Kevin Ginkel offered a scoreless inning-and-a-third in relief, and Kirby Below needed only ten pitches to finish off the BayBears in the ninth.
The Generals, wearing their alternate "Hub City Hippos" jerseys, heated up early, scoring four runs against Mobile's Jason Alexander (0-3, 3.71 ERA) over the first two innings. The first four Generals batters all reached base, with an RBI double from Domingo Leyba and a two-run infield error on a Rudy Flores grounder allowing three runs to score. Flores lifted a sacrifice fly to center field in second inning to put the Generals up 4-2 before the scoring died down over the next few frames.
Jackson put up six runs in their final two at-bats, keyed by a bases-clearing double from Daniel Robertson in the seventh and a two-run homer from Leyba in the eighth. The Generals stole three bases for the second straight night, as Leyba picked up one and Ben Deluzio grabbed a pair in the victory. Leyba and Robertson both finished with three hits, and Leyba scored three runs, helping the Generals improve to 5-1 as the Hub City Hippos in 2018.
