JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, dropped a 7-3 decision to the Biloxi Shuckers on Tuesday evening at The Ballpark at Jackson.

Though Jackson climbed within a run of the Shuckers entering the ninth inning, the Generals (54-47, 15-17 Second Half) ultimately fell short, allowing Biloxi (60-41, 19-12 Second Half) to even the series at 1-1.
Justin Donatella (4-6, 3.54 ERA) gave up a lead-off home run to Biloxi's Corey Ray as part of a two-run first inning for the Shuckers. Donatella lasted only 3.2 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits in his shortest outing since the First Half. In relief, Wei-Chieh Huang, Brian Ellington, and Kirby Bellow combined to shut down the Shuckers over the next 4.1 innings, holding the margin within reach until the ninth. Yoan López recorded the first two outs in the ninth with relative ease, but after a single and a walk, Lopez conceded a three-run blast to Keston Hiura that put Biloxi ahead 7-4.
The Generals' offense plated a run in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly from Rudy Flores, but the scoring was sparse thereafter. Jackson's bats went quiet until the seventh, when Jamie Westbrook homered off of Cody Ponce, extending his team-high dinger total to 15. Daniel Robertson drove in Westbrook in the eighth with an RBI single, but Nate Griep (S, 26) retired the next two men in order to get out of the inning. The Generals didn't threaten in the ninth, finishing 1-for-8 with men in scoring position.
