JACKSON, TENN. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will host Game 1 and Game 2 of the North Division Series in the 2018 Southern League Playoffs on September 5 and 6 at The Ballpark at Jackson.

The Generals finished atop the North Division in the First Half with a 39-30 record, earning an automatic postseason bid for the second time in three seasons.
Tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the North Division Series are on sale now through the Jackson Generals' box office (731.988.5299). The Generals' home playoff games will be presented by Jersey Mike's Subs in Jackson.

Both playoff games, which will pit the Generals against the North Division's Second Half champion, will begin at 6:05 pm CT. All Generals season ticket holders will receive playoff tickets free of charge. The second game of the series will fall on a Thursday, creating an additional chance for fans to enjoy Dollar Dogs and Drinks Night pricing on hot dogs, Pepsi products, and beer (presented by Disaster Services).
The North Division series is a best-of-five series, and the winner of the NDS will advance to the 2018 Southern League Championship Series, presented by BC Powder. The Generals clinched the First Half North Division title with their 38th win of the year on June 15, beating the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 3-1 in North Florida. The Generals' most recent North Division title came in 2016, culminating in their run to the franchise's second-ever Southern League Championship.
Thanks in part to a red-hot start to the 2018 season, hitting coach Vince Harrison and the Generals offense ended the First Half this year with league-leading marks in batting average (.273), on-base percentage (.346), slugging percentage (.413), total bases (982), doubles (136), hits (649), and runs (357). In the bullpen, pitching coach Doug Drabek tutored a staff that allowed league-low totals in runs allowed (278) and earned runs allowed (244) in the First Half while racking up 664 strikeouts and 31 holds, both league highs.
First-year skipper Shelley Duncan will manage a playoff team for the third time in four seasons as a manager in the Arizona organization. Eight Generals players were honored as Southern League Midseason All-Stars, including infielders Rudy Flores, Kevin Medrano, Juniel Querecuto, and Galli Cribbs Jr., outfielder Jamie Westbrook, and pitchers Taylor Widener, Justin Donatella, and Mason McCullough.
The Jackson Generals, a West Tennessee franchise since 1998, are the Double-A minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks. The Ballpark at Jackson was named the 2017 Professional Sports Field of the Year by the Tennessee Turfgrass Association. In 2018, the Generals and manager Shelley Duncan won the First Half North Division title, assuring them of a playoff berth.
