JACKSON, Tenn - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, held off a feisty Chattanooga Lookouts team in a back-and-forth 7-5 win on Saturday at The Ballpark at Jackson.

The win gives Jackson (74-63) the 2-1 advantage in the series against the visiting Lookouts (64-71) with a pair of games remaining.
After averaging their just 2.8 runs per game in August, the Jackson offense started September by scoring runs in the bottom of the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings on Saturday. First baseman Josh Prince featured prominently, driving in a two-out run in the second with an RBI single and a pair of two-out runs in in the fifth with a an RBI double.
Prince added a walk to finish the night 2-for-3, and Marty Herum extended his hitting streak to ten games with a 2-for-4 effort that included an RBI. Jason Morozowski drove in two runs, and Ben DeLuzio drove in one, as the Generals finished 5-for-11 with men in scoring position, taking Double-A rookie Bryan Sammons (0-1, 11.25 ERA) to the woodshed in his Chattanooga debut.
Each of the first three times the Generals took the lead, Chattanooga found a way to frustrate Jon Duplantier's best attempts to shut the visitors down. Luke Raley tagged Duplantier for a pair of extra base hits over the right-hander's 4 1/3 innings, tripling in the third inning and doubling in the fourth inning.
A fifth-inning home run by Andy Wilkins finally chased Duplantier from the hill with five earned runs to answer for, but the Generals' bullpen came to their starter's aid. Ryan Atkinson (5-11, 4.79 ERA) got the Generals out of the fifth inning and through the sixth as well, striking out four while allowing only one hit. Jared Miller, Michael Blazek, and Kevin Ginkel (S, 5) each followed with a scoreless frame, giving the Generals the victory in front of 3,447 at The Ballpark at Jackson on their final home Saturday in the regular season.
