Jackson, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, were forced to suspend their contest on Saturday against the Mississippi Braves because of inclement weather at The Ballpark at Jackson.

PARTIAL BOX SCORE
The suspended game is scheduled to be resumed on Sunday at 2:05pm CT as part of a double-header between the two sides. The resumed game will be played to a regulation length of nine-innings, while the second game of the double-header will follow a seven-inning regulation format. Pitching matchups for both contests have yet to be determined at press time.
When play was stopped in the bottom of the third inning, Mississippi held a 4-0 lead on Jackson. A three-run homer in the first inning by Ryan Casteel opened the scoring for the Braves, and the visiting side tacked on another run against Jackson starter Bo Takahashi in the third inning with an RBI single from Casteel. Jackson went scoreless through the first two innings against Mississippi starter Tucker Davidson. Ben DeLuzio walked with one out in the third, and he advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher Mississippi catcher William Contreras. Daulton Varsho was batting at the time that the game came to a halt. (A partial box score is linked above.)
Entering play on Saturday, the Generals (34-27) and Braves (27-32) had played only once in 2019, with Mississippi winning Friday night's game by a 7-6 score. The Generals began the day 3.5 games behind the Montgomery Biscuits in the North Division standings with nine games remaining in the Southern League's First Half.
