JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville starter Daniel Castano fanned a career-high 13 batters in a nine-inning complete game on Thursday to lead the Jumbo Shrimp to a 5-1 victory over the Mississippi Braves in front of 5,893 fans on a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
Castano's (5-1) gem was Jacksonville's (55-61, 26-20) first nine-inning complete game since Justin Nicolino accomplished the feat on July 29, 2014. Castano's 13 strikeouts came without walking a batter, and he ceded just one run on four hits.

The scored was tied at one when Mississippi (56-59, 23-23) starter Jasseel De La Cruz (3-7) walked Jazz Chisholm to begin the third inning. After a fielder's choice ground out, Joe Dunand singled before Brian Miller doubled in a run to put Jacksonville ahead. Riley Mahan singled in a pair of runs and two batters later, Adrian Nieto lofted a sacrifice fly to make it 5-1.
The Jumbo Shrimp got on the board in their first at-bats on Lewin Diaz's solo home run. Connor Lien went yard for the M-Braves in the second to tie the score at two.

Thursday's winning raffle number of 1508346005 won a prize of $175.
