DURHAM, N.C. – Despite hitting six home runs, a six-run seventh sunk the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in an 11-8 loss to the Durham Bulls Sunday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

After falling behind in the top of the seventh, Durham (62-49) sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the seventh against Jacksonville (60-51) reliever Robert Garcia (L, 1-4). Josh Lowe started the inning off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. In the following at-bat, Tristan Gray smacked a base hit to score Lowe and cut the deficit to 8-6. Miles Mastrobuoni *tallied the third consecutive hit to put runners on first and second. Two batters later, *David Rodriguez walked to load the bases and Vidal Brujan delivered a two-run single to tie the game at eight. Harold Ramirez walked to load the bases for the second time. Following a strikeout, George Soriano surrendered a three-run double to Jonathan Aranda to give the Bulls an 11-8 lead.

Durham took an early lead in the bottom of the first. Brujan led off with a single and stole second. With one out, *Manuel Margot *knocked a single, scoring Brujan as the first run of the game. After a flyout, Lowe smacked a base hit and Margot scored to push the lead to 2-0.

The Bulls added to their lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, David Rodriguez walloped a solo home run, giving Durham a 3-0 advantage.

The Jumbo Shrimp got on the board in the top of the third. Ryan Lavarnway (10) led off the inning with a bang, clubbing a solo home run to make the score 3-1. Three batters later, Bryan De La Cruz (2) crushed a solo home run to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Jacksonville tied the game in the top of the fifth. Leading off the inning, Luis Aviles Jr. (2) destroyed a leadoff home run to tie the game at three.

The two teams continued to go punch-for-punch as the Bulls regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Wit hoe out, Gray singled and then scored on a two-out, two-run home run from Witherspoon (8) to break the tie 5-3.

In the sixth, the Jumbo Shrimp landed a haymaker and tied the game. Encarnacion started the frame with a double and Astudillo blasted a game tying, two-run home run, their fifth of the game.

The first Jacksonville lead occurred in the top of the seventh. With one out, De La Cruz launched his second home run of the game, breaking the tie 6-5. Brian Miller walked and advanced to second on an errant pickoff attempt. Encarnacion (13) blasted a two-run home run to pad the Jumbo Shrimp lead 8-5.

Jacksonville returns home to begin a 12-game homestand, starting on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. against the Nashville Sounds. Coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. MiLB.tv, ESPN 690 and ESPN690.com.
