Jumbo Shrimp trail in first month of Seafood Buffet Rivalry Series

Series resumes on June 2 when Jacksonville visits Pensacola

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After one month of the Seafood Buffet Rivalry Series, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp find themselves needing to rise up from the bottom of the standings against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Biloxi Shuckers. The three franchises partnered for a round-robin competition throughout the 2019 season, with the winning team receiving one pound of seafood from each of the losing squads.
Jacksonville's 4-11(.364) record against Biloxi and Pensacola this season places the club in third place in the competition. Pensacola leads with a 10-5 (.667) mark, followed by Biloxi's 11-9 (.555) record against the other two squads.

The Seafood Buffet Rivalry Series will continue when the Jumbo Shrimp visit the Blue Wahoos for a five-game series from June 2-6. Additional dates for the series throughout the season include June 7-11 (Pensacola at Biloxi), June 20-24 (Pensacola at Jacksonville), June 25-29 (Biloxi at Pensacola), July 22-26 (Biloxi at Jacksonville, July 27-31 (Pensacola at Jacksonville) and August 1-5 (Jacksonville at Biloxi).
In total, there will be 60 games between the three clubs over the series.
The Jumbo Shrimp host the Montgomery Biscuits on Friday at 7:05 p.m. from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. On a Red Shirt Friday, fans are encouraged to wear red to support the military and save $1 per ticket at the box office, or donate that $1 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Friday Night Lites spiced up by Tijuana Flats presented by Miller Lite and Coors Light means from 6-7:30 p.m., fans are welcome to enjoy specials for $1 12 oz. Miller Lite and Coors Light drafts, as well as $1 off all craft beer at the Craft Cave near the third-base gate. On Hug A Plumber Day presented by Darley's Plumbing, the Jumbo Shrimp are inviting fans to say thanks to plumbers by giving them a hug on the stadium concourse. Fans can enjoy a NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks Show after the game.
Tickets for Jacksonville's remaining series against Montgomery from May 17-20 are available at www.jaxshrimp.com, by calling (904) 358-2846 or by visiting the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville box office. The Jumbo Shrimp's in-season box office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, as well as 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. On Monday through Saturday game days, the box office is open at 9 a.m. through the end of the game. On Sunday game days, the box office will be open from 11 a.m. through the end of the game.
