JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jumbo Shrimp starter Cody Poteet tossed six scoreless innings on Friday, but Jacksonville was blanked 9-0 by the Montgomery Biscuits in front of 8,103 fans from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Fans enjoyed a Red Shirt Friday, Friday Night Lites spiced up by Tijuana Flats and presented by Miller Lite and Coors Lite, a NAPA AutoCare Fireworks Show and Hug A Plumber Day presented by Darley's Plumbing.
The game was scoreless into the seventh when Jacksonville (14-28) reliever Elvis Araujo (1-1) walked Jesús Sánchez to begin the inning. After a strikeout, Araujo issued another free pass to Robbie Tenerowicz. David Rodríguez then registered an RBI single to give Montgomery (27-14) a 1-0 advantage.

The Biscuits added on to their lead in the eighth. Dalton Kelly and Sanchez each singled with two outs. Tristan Gray notched an RBI single and Tenerowicz drilled a two-run double to widen the margin to 4-0.
In the ninth, a Lucius Fox infield single coupled with a Jumbo Shrimp error plated a pair of runs. Jesús Sánchez also launched a home run to make it 9-0.
Poteet scattered four hits and two walks in his six shutout frames. The right-hander struck out three but earned a no-decision.
Montgomery reliever Brian Shaffer (1-0) fired four scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.

Jacksonville hosts Montgomery at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
